What is WELL certification?

The establishment of the WELL certification in 2014 was preceded by 6 years of research. Certification focuses on buildings, indoor spaces and communities where it measures, certifies and monitors the impact of various building elements on human health and comfort. These elements include air, water, nutrition, light and suitability and fitness for use.

The WELL system has been developed by integrating scientific and medical research together with environmental, medical results and demographic factors affecting health in building design, construction and overall management. The entire WELL certification process has undergone an impartial assessment by experts in the fields. The assessment was carried out in three phases - scientific, practical and medical.

The WELL certification and the WELL AP point program are performed by an independent third party through the collaboration of IWBI ( International WELL Building Institute ) with GBCI ( Green Business Certification ).

Buildings with WELL certification should guarantee a pleasant working environment, be environmentally friendly, use water and energy economically, or be located in a location with an availability other than just a car.
